Art

What this means for our pupils

Art continues to be a real strength at Market Field School. Every student achieved their qualification, whether studying GCSE or Entry Level Art. We are particularly pleased that several students secured GCSE grades 4 and above, demonstrating creativity, perseverance and growing artistic skills. These outcomes reflect the high-quality practical and expressive opportunities available across our curriculum.

English

What this means for our pupils

We are delighted that all students entered for Entry Level English achieved their qualification. Many students also challenged themselves by working towards Functional Skills qualifications at Levels 1 and 2. While not all students achieved the full qualification, several successfully gained individual reading or writing components. This reflects our commitment to providing ambitious pathways that encourage pupils to achieve as highly as possible.

Mathematics

What this means for our pupils

All students entered for Entry Level Mathematics achieved success, which is a fantastic achievement. We also entered students for Functional Skills qualifications where appropriate. Some pupils were working at the higher end of Entry Level and were encouraged to attempt Level 1 qualifications as part of our ambitious curriculum offer. Whilst this meant some students did not achieve the full qualification on this occasion, the experience provides valuable preparation for future learning and progression.

Digital Skills

What this means for our pupils

Digital skills are increasingly important for education, employment and everyday life. We are pleased that students achieved strong outcomes at both Entry 3 and Level 1, with a 100% pass rate for those entered at Level 1. These results demonstrate growing confidence in using technology safely and effectively.

Science

What this means for our pupils

Science outcomes were excellent, with every student entered achieving their qualification. Pupils demonstrated their knowledge and understanding across a range of scientific topics, highlighting the effectiveness of practical, engaging learning experiences throughout Key Stage 4.

 What this means for our pupils

We are incredibly proud of the wide range of qualifications achieved beyond the traditional curriculum. A 100% pass rate in both BTEC Home Cooking Skills and ASDAN Transition Challenge reflects the importance we place on preparing pupils for adulthood, independence and future opportunities. These qualifications help develop essential life skills alongside academic learning.

Pupil Premium Outcomes

What this means for our pupils

We are particularly pleased that there is no evidence of an attainment gap for pupils in receipt of Pupil Premium funding within this cohort. In fact, Pupil Premium students achieved slightly more qualifications on average and were more likely to achieve five or more qualifications than their peers. This demonstrates the positive impact of targeted support and our commitment to ensuring all pupils can access a broad and ambitious curriculum.

Overall Summary

Our 2026 results demonstrate that pupils at Market Field School continue to achieve success across a broad range of academic, vocational and life-skills qualifications. We are particularly proud of the 100% pass rates achieved across many Entry Level qualifications and the strong outcomes in Art, Science, Digital Skills and vocational learning.

We remain ambitious for all pupils and will continue to develop higher-level English and Mathematics pathways, ensuring that every learner is supported to achieve their very best and leave Market Field School ready for the next stage of their education or employment journey.
