Medical
We are extremely fortunate to have a Care Coordinator, Suzanne, who works in our medical room every day. Suzanne administers prescribed medication, occasional pain relief if needed and administers both basic First Aid and Emergency First Aid as appropriate. Suzanne liaises with parents on daily medical needs and supports with clinics held in school.
Nurse Kayly supports Suzanne and other Care Coordinators across Market Field College and Hope Lodge. Kayly also supports our staff team with medical training and refers to / liaises with other Paediatric Health Care Teams within the NHS concerning our pupils and students.
Please ensure that any Health Care Plans are provided to the school. This may include Asthma, Allergy / Anaphylaxis and Epilepsy Care Plans that are written by specialist nurses.
A template of Asthma Action Care Plans can be found via Asthma and Lung UK:

If your child requires medication during the school day, please ensure it is sent in with the pharmacy label clearly visible, containing clear instructions for us to follow. You will also need to complete a medication form to give us your written consent to administer any medication – this can be found in the link below, and when submitted will go directly to the school.
Please note that it is the parents / carers responsibility to ensure that medication is safely provided to the school and to be aware that medication may need re-ordering in good time.
