Learning For Life
During your studies in Key Stage 3, you will have the opportunity to explore a range of techniques and processes in art and design.
You will have the chance to improve on your observational drawing skills, 3D construction and will learn about new exciting cultures and artists.
When in year 9, you will be able to start keeping a sketchbook which will contain evidence of drawing, painting, collage, personal notes, printmaking and textile design.
Year 9 will put you in a good position to platform onto either the GCSE or Entry Level art and design course. This course will be studied over 2 year duration, at the end of this time you will achieve a GCSE or Entry Level accreditation. These 2 years will be a challenging time but an incredibly rewarding experience, as you will be able to refine and master the basic skills learnt in key stage 3.
You will produce and develop work to be collated into a wonderful portfolio with a selection of 2D and 3D pieces. If you attend the GCSE course you will undergo a 10 hour exam in which you can home in on personal interests and show case all prior knowledge and skills learnt in the time you have spent at Market Field School.
We as an art and design department are very proud of all of the achievements you as pupils accomplish.
We always look forward to seeing what the next generation of young aspiring artists can create.
