Autumn Term 1 - Myths and Legends (eg. Thesus and the Minotaur, Narcissus, Androcles and the Lion, The cave of the One Eyed Giant, Beowolf)
Autumn Term 2 - Christmas Topics and Stories (on teacher's discretion this topic may not be introduced until late November/early December)
Skills covered in the Autumn Term: Poetry, Story Writing, Short Stories, Writing from a descriptive viewpoint, recounts, opinions and points of view
Spring Term 1 and 2 - Popular Authors (i.e. Jacqueline Wilson, Anne Fine, Michael Morpurgo, Dick King Smith, Roald Dahl, David Walliams, JK Rowling)

Summer Term 1 and 2 - Media, Analyse, Review and Comment (non fiction including newspapers, magazines and notices. May link to plays, films and events)
